Made in Blender 3D and GIMP, yay!

Here is a short description of Ashasi folk:

Lifestyle

Ashasans make a small nation living on the edge of the Aharas desert. Most of them live in a large cave with the Caverne city or in the nearby oasis between Aharas and Savanna. Their houses are made of sand and wood, just little have some stone in their construction.

Skills

Majority has an exceptionaly good skill in fighting with light prolonged long-hilted swords and with spears. Ashasi armorsmiths are capable of doing some of the best - yet cheap - light armors of today's world. Humans call ashasans shadowrunners, because they have this outstanding skill to orient themselves very well in darkness.

Human or Ashasan?

Even though they are very much like human and could be easily mistaken even when standing next to each other - 90% of ashasans have at least a little bit of tapetum lucidum in their eyes, which allows them to see very well at night, but worse in the day. When you happen to come across a human and ashasan in daylight, you'd probably not recognise one from each other. The only big difference is the fact that ashasan people don't like a lot of light and thus are always trying to avoid it by all means. Many ashasan have dark circles under the eyes. But since human could have these too, it's nothing we can use to tell them apart.

Almost every ashasan from the Caverne has pale - almost grey - skin. But because many ashasans also go into sun-light where their's complexion is tanned much faster than human's - and making them look like human. Some of them even got accustomed to life out of the cave so much, that they now live among humans or elves without slightest hint of being ashasan at all - since by being in the open ground for so long their eyes have adapted and they almost lost their ability to see at dark.

Every ashasan has either completely black or white hair and some don't even have any.

Weapons

Ashasans generally use their dinican swords and cortave spears together with so called bracre shields.

Dinican

Sword with a slanted hilt that makes the sword more controllable and keeps the weapon's centre of gravity exactly between the hilt and the blade. The blade itself is also slanted and only the tip and one side is sharp.

Cortave

Kind of spear that can be distinguished from other of it's kind for it's quite short lenght. It usually has a short blade at the tip and is wholly made of light-weight steel to ensure maximum material strenght. The hilt is covered in cloth to give you fastened grip.

Armor

The ashasan's armor is looking very useless at first glance from untrained eye. But underneath these raiments lies very smart ans sophisticated system made to cover the vital organs and spots of the body. The robe covers the parts of body that are covered by steel from the enemy, so he doesn't really know where should he hit you. And every skilled warrior knows that there's nothing better than unawareness and fear of your opponent.

Bracre

Type of shield that is bound to the bracer on hand thus leaving the shield-wielding hand free to e.g. perform surprise grab of the enemy, hold hidden dagger or even stun the foe with the bracre itself. Altough the shield is quite small and is useless in defending against projectiles from bows, crossbows or katapatches, it shows it's best when sparring against basic melee weapons like swords, axes, pikes, daggers or blunt weapons. The front edge is sharpened to let you deliver fatal blows even with shield.
